Backup and Replication > Unsupported Regions

In regions without support of AWS Systems Manager, you need to manually install Amazon VSS components on each backed up instance. To do this, follow these steps:

1.Download the AWS VSS component from https://s3.amazonaws.com/cd-shared/AwsVssComponents.zip

•If you are in the AWS GovCloud, you can use the below link:
https://s3-us-gov-west-1.amazonaws.com/cd-gov-shared/AwsVssComponents.zip

2.Connect to the instance using remote desktop.

3.Extract the archive on the instance.

4.Run the “install.ps1” script. For example, right-click on it and select “Run with PowerShell”

To uninstall the AWS VSS components, run the “uninstall.ps1” script in the same manner described above.
